The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) was established in partnership with the Government of Canada through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
The program nominates foreign workers, international students, business owners and entrepreneurs to apply for permanent residence.
Ontario government announced that the number of skilled immigrants has historically increased to fill job gaps in three categories, including health care, skilled trades, and technology.
Ontario can nominate 16,500 individuals in 2023. The government of Ontario will nominate 18,361 eligible foreign nationals by 2025.
Ontario has a labour shortage in 2023. The government anticipates that increasing the number of provincial nominees addresses the issue and advances Ontario’s economy.
